Zoom Integration with Simply Studio: Enabling Remote Classes and Personal Sessions
What is Zoom and its Benefits
Zoom is a powerful video conferencing platform that allows individuals and groups to connect via high-quality audio and video, making it ideal for virtual meetings, classes, and personal sessions. By integrating Zoom with Simply Studio, fitness studios and trainers can extend their services to include remote classes and personal training sessions. This flexibility enables clients to participate from home or any location, improving accessibility, engagement, and overall member satisfaction.
How to Activate Zoom Integration with Simply Studio
To activate Zoom integration for remote sessions in Simply Studio:
- Log in to your Simply Studio account.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select the Integration tab.
- Click on the Connect to Zoom button.
- You will be redirected to the Zoom login page. Enter your Zoom credentials and approve the necessary permissions.
- Once approved, you will be redirected back to Simply Studio, where the integration is now complete.
You can now schedule and manage remote classes and personal sessions through Zoom directly from Simply Studio.
How to Configure an Entire Class as Remote
To enable remote access for an entire class series:
- Open the Dashboard in Simply Studio.
- Click Edit Schedule and select the class you want to modify.
- In the class settings, locate and check the Remote checkbox.
- Once enabled, all future instances of the class will automatically support remote participation via Zoom.
Simply Studio will generate the appropriate start URL for instructors and a join URL for members, allowing both to access the session remotely.
How to Configure All Personal Sessions for a Specific Hours Range
To enable remote access for personal training sessions during specific hours:
- Access the Dashboard, click Edit Schedule, and switch to Personal tab.
- Select the availability range for personal training sessions that you want to configure.
- In the availability range settings, check the Remote checkbox.
- All future personal sessions scheduled within this availability range will now support remote access.
This allows trainers to offer online personal training during specified times, ensuring that clients can book remote sessions when the trainer is available.
Conducting a Remote Session
Once a class or personal session has been configured for remote participation, managing the session is easy:
- For Instructors: Instructors can start the session by clicking the Start button from the session details page within Simply Studio. This button will launch the Zoom meeting. Instructors also have access to the meeting's join URL.
- For Members: Members who have booked the session will have access to the Join URL. This URL is automatically generated when the session is marked as remote and can be distributed by instructors or accessed directly by members through the Simply Studio members website.
The seamless integration ensures that both instructors and participants have easy access to the remote session.
Setting Remote On or Off for a Specific Class Instance or Booked Personal Session
For finer control over individual sessions:
- Go to the Calendar and click the specific class instance or personal session you want to modify.
- Check or uncheck the Remote checkbox to enable or disable remote access for the selected session.
- The system will update the session to either create or remove the associated Zoom meeting link based on your changes.
This feature allows flexibility to manage specific sessions differently from the default settings.
How to Deactivate Zoom Integration
If you wish to disconnect Zoom from Simply Studio, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Simply Studio account and navigate to Settings.
- Go to the Integration tab.
- Click on Disconnect from Zoom.
- This action will deactivate all remote functionality for any classes or personal sessions that were previously set to remote and will unlink your Zoom account from Simply Studio.
After deactivating, no future Zoom meetings will be created, and any current remote-enabled sessions will revert to standard, in-person sessions only.
